Our Vision
How Can You Know Christ?

With a contagious smile and a heart as big as Texas, Sam Craig has been called by God to deliver the gospel through music and mission work. His rich voice, a working spirit, and a down to earth Christian lifestyle, makes him at home, whether singing in front of a large congregation, or ministering in a bamboo hut.

Sam and his wife, Sharilyn, have been married over 32 years and have three children and 6 grandchildren. Sharilyn is a great asset to this ministry. She provides support and helps organize many of the events they sponsor.

Musically, Sam has been gifted by God to sing His praises in a marvelous way. He has ministered for over 29 years in music evangelism and has held over 200 revivals in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He is a recording artist, hosted a nationwide Christian Television Show (1981-1982), and has directed music for state and evangelism conferences in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Texas. He also served as minister of music and missions at Bayshore Baptist Church in LaPorte, Texas (1990-1995). Sharilyn was the Sr. Adult coordinator for events at Bayshore for 10 years. She now primarly handles coordinating the Sr. Adult retreats and cruises for the ministry. Their membership still resides with Bayshore Baptist Church.

Sam's heartfelt desire to reach people for Christ has led him to have a wide range of ministry experience. Since his formal education at East Texas Baptist University, he has led numerous revivals as well as concerts all over the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Russia, Australia, Nicaragua and Mexico.

Almost every year since 1978, he has traveled to the San Blas region of Panama to work with the Kuna Indians. He ministers to both their physical and spiritual needs by showing the movie Jesus and Passion of the Christ, holding pastors conferences, building churches, and buying fishing nets to help feed the people.

Most recently, the mission field has opened up to Sam in Nicaragua. The evangelism that was spread was done so by walking from ranch to ranch. The team that went stayed in homes or churches of those they ministered to. The people were gracious and responded well. Sam is preparing to return again soon.

For the last 10 years, Sam has held camps for disadvantaged boys and girls. The camps started out small and grew to the point of adding 2 camps per year for the boys and the girls. These youth are seeking answers for life. This camp offers them the building blocks for their life, through God's word.

Another ministry that is dear to Sam and Sharilyn's heart is the Sr. Adult Ministry. Every year they hold several events for the Sr. Adults to participate in. Whether it is attending one of the retreats, taking part in a cruise, or other events, they are willing and ready to minister to those that come and join in.

At Christmas, Sam and Sharilyn have a ministry called The Indian Shoe Boxes. They collect the shoeboxes that are filled with age appropriate gifts and then deliver them to the Indian Reservation.

Sam believes the fields are white unto the harvest and that now is the time to win the lost to Christ before it is too late. Since being saved, as a senior in high school, he has committed his life to helping people come into a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Whether he is singing or sharing the gospel one-on-one, the love of Christ and the gospel message come through.

"He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord." Psalm 40:3

To Sam, that's what it's all about.

The world’s view of Christianity has always been to shed doubt upon the truths of God. The world portrays Christians as hypocrites and someone to make jokes about. People do not understand why bad things happen to good people and blame God. They say all religions are the same and in the end all you can depend upon is yourself.
Terms such as salvation, being born again, baptism, sanctification, justification, etc. are not understood by people. They try to make knowing God such a difficult thing when it is simply a free gift from our Heavenly Father.

Where do you fit in? How can you know God?

It starts with God’s love. He created you “For You formed my inward parts; You created me in my mother’s womb, I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalms 139:13-14. How does He give you love? “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever (you) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16,17. God wants to fill your life with His love.

Because we are sinners by nature and by choice, our sin stands in the way of God’s purpose for our lives. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. Our sin separates us from God. “For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23. Jesus can change your life. “ I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6. He died for you. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. He was buried and rose again the third day.” I Corinthians 15:3-4. His love for you was the payment for your sins. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12.

Your must turn from your sin and self and turn to God. “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19. Repentence is turning your life over God through Jesus and away from your sin, a complete U turn. You must place your faith and trust in Jesus. “For by grace have you been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (love for you) not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith is trust in Jesus, not just knowing the facts about Him. It is like planning a trip on an airplane. The ticket is only a promise. You will never make the trip until you trust the airplane enough to board it. Are you ready to except His promise. He offers this promise to you right now?
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10.

You can invite Him into your life now. “Behold, now is the accepted time…now is the day of salvation.” II Corinthians 6:2 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13. Put your name in the place of everyone and YOU WILL BE SAVED! What you should do right now is to bow your head and heart before God and pray to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. He knows your heart and life and is willing to except you just as you are.

Pray this prayer: Jesus, I am a sinner and I need you and your forgiveness. I give you my life to be my Lord. Thank you for loving me and dying for me on the cross. Thank you for giving me a new life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life.” John 6:47.
“Rejoice because your name is written in Heaven.” Luke 10:20.
