How You Can Be
Saved!
Why Become a
Christian?
Maybe
you have been skeptical about the claims of Christianity. The world's view of
Christianity has always been to shed doubt upon the truths of God. The world
portrays Christians as hypocrites and someone to make jokes about. People do
not understand why bad things happen to good people and blame God. They say all
religions are the same and in the end all you can depend upon is yourself.
Terms
such as salvation, being born again, baptism, sanctification, justification,
etc. are not understood by people. They try to make knowing God such a difficult
thing when it is simply a free gift from our Heavenly Father.
Where do you fit in?
How can you know God?
It
starts with God's love. He created you "For You formed my inward parts; You created me in my mother's womb, I will praise You for I
am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalms 139:13-14. How does He give you
love? "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever (you) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world but
that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16,17.
God wants to fill your life with His love.
Because
we are sinners by nature and by choice, our sin stands in the way of God's
purpose for our lives. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory
of God." Romans 3:23. Our sin separates us from God. "For the wages
of sin is death." Romans 6:23.
Jesus
can change your life. " I am the way, the truth
and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6. He died for you. "Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures. He was buried and rose again the third day." I Corinthians
15:3-4. His love for you was the payment for your sins. "But as many as
received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God." John
1:12. Your must turn from your sin and self and turn to God.
"Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted
out." Acts
You
must place your faith and trust in Jesus. "For by grace have you been
saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (love for
you) not of works, lest anyone should boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith is trust in Jesus, not just knowing the facts about Him.
It is like planning a trip on an airplane. The ticket is only a promise. You
will never make the trip until you trust the airplane enough to board it. Are
you ready to except His promise. He offers this
promise to you right now. "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord
Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10.
You can invite Him into your life now. "Behold,
now is the accepted time.. .now is the day of
salvation." II Corinthians 6:2 "For everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13. Put your name in the place of
everyone and YOU WILL BE SAVED! What you should do right now is to bow your
head and heart before God and pray to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. He
knows your heart and life and is willing to except you just as you are.
Pray
this prayer: Jesus, I am a sinner and I need you and your forgiveness. I give
you my life to be my Lord. Thank you for loving me and dying for me on the
cross. Thank you for giving me a new life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
"Most
assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life." John
6:47. "Rejoice because your name is written in Heaven." Luke 10:20.

"Whosoever
confesses Me before men, him will I also confess
